Jellyfish Recordings is excited to present the evocative debut of Vancouver Canada's very own Noble Oak. Exploring airy synth-pop textures and shuffling post-hip hop rhythms, the EP marries the producer's own cascading vocal flourishes with fluorescent electronic tones and clusters of frosty, offbeat percussion. A brief, affecting expedition in sentiment as much as sound, Away provides a warm accompaniment to bracing Autumn breezes and contemplative strolls through leaf-layered urban landscapes.
Stuff Gets Bent (Download) is the second full-length release from down-tempo/folktronic producer, Blocktreat (Brandon Hoffman). This is an album of bittersweet instrumental soundscapes. Hoffman layered together found sounds, field recordings of living-room bluegrass jams, and occasionally live recorded instruments to create a dynamic, cinematic mosaic of acoustic and electronic textures. Blocktreat's previous album, Traditionals (2012) maintains regular play on CBC Radio 2, and community radio. "Blocktreat has set a new standard for field recorded beats, kids. Trust me on this one." (Passion of the Weiss hip-hop blog).
Half way through a degree in mechanical engineering, Brandon Hoffman threw everything away and dedicated his life to music. Several years later he found himself living in Vancouver, making records for a living, and still feeling completely unfulfilled. Constantly experimenting with different bands and new instruments, Hoffman wasn't finding the creative satisfaction he thought a life of music would grant him. Things started to change when he picked up a second hand MPC-1000 sampler from a friend. Instantly creative sparks started to fly. The device opened Hoffman's eyes to the infinite malleability of sound. He began pushing familiar sounds further and further into abstraction. Having always loved the tones of old time and bluegrass music, he envisioned a pulsating landscape of broken banjos and mandolins.

After a two year hiatus from releasing music, Eli Muro returns with "Tides" his second official project on Jellyfish Recordings. While the gap between his releases is quite large by todays fast paced standards he has been active in his local music community, releasing other artists music and performing regularly in and around his hometown of Vancouver BC.
Tides is about coming and going, things we love that eventually escape us only to return in a new form. The cycles that keep us awake and lull us to sleep. Originally written on hardware, these tunes made their way from dusty old samplers and drum machines to computer software, a back and forth journey that gives character to the sound.

Jellyfish Recordings is proud to present ‘Boil’ (EP) from Vancouver electronic musician Boha. A deviation from the usual Jellyfish style, Boha’s debut EP hovers at deep sea level where light is lost, away from the surface, far from normality.
